About Us

There are three ‘levels’ of support for voluntary and community organisations in York and North Yorkshire, provided by:

• Your ‘Local Infrastructure Organisation’ (LIO), which has a base in your local area


• North Yorkshire Forum for Voluntary Organisations (NYFVO), which provides support for LIOs and some specialist services across York and North Yorkshire


• Rural Action Yorkshire (RAY), which is a rural specialist agency operating across West and South Yorkshire as well as North Yorkshire.

Whilst each of these provides support for the voluntary and community sector, they have differing roles.  Collectively these organisations work together as the York and North Yorkshire Infrastructure  Consortium. The VCS Directory is a project of the Consortium and has been made possible thanks to funding from Capacitybuilders.
